How to add a logo to your QR code

Enter your destination in the Content tab first. In Logo, upload a PNG, JPEG or simple SVG you have permission to use. Adjust the logo size and white margin, then preview the result. Logo processing happens locally in your browser.

QR Now automatically uses high error correction when a logo is present and caps the logo width at 22% of the QR width. This gives the scanner more room to recover data, but it does not guarantee every decorated code will scan. Keep the logo small and test the exported code.

  • Use a clear logo with a simple silhouette.
  • Leave the three corner markers completely visible.
  • Keep dark QR modules against a light background.
  • Scan your final download on more than one phone before printing.

Customize colors without sacrificing readability

The Style tab changes module shapes, corner shapes and colors. QR Now blocks export when the configured foreground and background contrast is below 4.5:1. That check helps prevent low-contrast designs, but scanner behavior also depends on code density, logo placement, print quality and lighting.

For packaging and signs, begin with a dark brand color on white. Avoid backgrounds with patterns or photographic detail. Keep a clear border around the code; the generator includes at least four modules of quiet zone.

PNG or SVG for a branded QR?

PNG downloads are available at 512, 1024 and 2048 pixels and work well in social posts, presentations and documents. SVG preserves the QR modules as vector shapes, useful when scaling a code for print. The uploaded logo is rasterized and embedded, so the logo’s own resolution still matters.

Test a sample from the final printed material, including any lamination, curvature or glossy finish. A code on a business card needs different sizing from one scanned across a room. There is no single minimum size that suits all uses.

Know what a static code can do

Your download stores the chosen content directly. QR Now adds no redirect service or tracking URL, and the code has no built-in expiration. If it points to a website, that website must remain available.

You cannot change the encoded destination in an already printed static QR code. For content you update often, encode a stable page on a domain you control and update that page. QR Now does not provide scan analytics or hosted dynamic QR destinations.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download a logo QR code for free?

Yes. Custom colors, shapes, logos and PNG or SVG exports are free and have no QR Now watermark.

Which logo formats are supported?

PNG, JPEG and simple SVG are supported. SVG files with active content or external references are rejected, and accepted logos are rasterized locally before embedding.

Does adding a logo affect scanning?

It can. A logo covers QR modules, so use a small logo, high contrast and adequate size, and test the final exported and printed code.
